From Pre-Owned to Certified Pre-Owned

A Bucherer Certified Pre-Owned watch undergoes a comprehensive process to meet strict performance, authenticity, and appearance standards. Every piece in the collection is meticulously examined and serviced by experienced, brand-certified watchmakers through a rigorous, multi-stage procedure. Each step—from the initial diagnosis to final certification—is designed to restore precision, visual refinement, and full functionality. Only after completing every stage does a watch receive the Certified by Bucherer seal, signifying verified authenticity and lasting quality.

Step 1: Initial Diagnosis

The process begins with an expert assessment. The strap or bracelet is removed, and the caseback is carefully opened to access the movement. The serial number is verified, and the watch’s condition is thoroughly evaluated to determine the required level of service.

Step 2: Preparing for Service

After the initial checks, the movement is extracted. The case is fully disassembled, and the bracelet is taken apart if necessary—the starting point for a precise and comprehensive service.

Step 3: Servicing the Movement

The movement is carefully disassembled into its components. Each part undergoes ultrasonic cleaning before being reassembled and lubricated by hand, restoring reliable performance.

Step 4: Cleaning and Polishing

To refine the exterior, the case and bracelet are polished with precision. Both elements are then ultrasonically cleaned, ensuring a clean, cohesive finish.

Step 5: Assembling the Case and Bracelet

The case and bracelet are reassembled with accuracy and care. Worn seals are replaced to uphold water resistance and ensure long-term durability.

Step 6: Encasing the Movement

With the movement performing as intended, the hands are set, and the movement is returned to the case, completing a key stage in the servicing process.

Step 7: Quality and Function Check

The watch undergoes a full series of functional tests. Accuracy, water resistance, and all functions are verified, and the polishing quality is closely inspected to ensure the watch meets Bucherer’s technical and aesthetic standards.

Step 8: Final Certification

The refurbished bracelet or a new strap is attached. A final inspection confirms compliance with all Certified by Bucherer criteria, after which the official Bucherer seal is applied, certifying quality, functionality, and full authenticity.
