The Watchmaking Artistry of Chopard
Each collection reflects a unique facet of the brand, showcasing its ability to evolve while remaining true to its roots. The Maison proudly nurtures its family values, offering a singular brand experience. Balancing fearless innovation with traditional principles and perfectionism, Chopard is one of the world’s most respected and diverse watchmakers.
The History of Chopard
The history of Chopard began in 1860 in a small Swiss village, when the young watchmaker Louis-Ulysse Chopard laid the foundation for one of the world's most renowned designer brands. What began as a modest workshop developed into a symbol of precision, innovation, and timeless elegance. From the fine craftsmanship of watchmaking to masterful jewelry artistry, Chopard has managed to combine tradition and modernity in a fascinating way. Today, the brand is family-owned and redefines the world of luxury—always with a focus on highest quality and ethical responsibility.
What Makes Chopard Stand Out?
“Today, luxury is no longer just a synonym for beauty, but also for sustainability and ethics.”
Caroline Scheufele, Co-President and Creative Director of Chopard
Thanks to its strong sense of family, the Maison conveys a very special brand experience. The harmonious balance between an intrepid pioneering spirit and the preservation of traditional principles, coupled with a relentless pursuit of perfection, makes Chopard one of the most versatile and renowned watch brands in the world.
This spirit of innovation does not stop at design and technical mastery—it also extends to responsibility and sustainability. Chopard has established itself as a pioneer in the field of sustainable luxury watch production and, since 2018, has exclusively used ethically sourced gold from responsible suppliers. This initiative forms part of the Maison’s broader commitment to shaping a more sustainable high-end sector, reflecting its sense of social responsibility. In support of this vision, Chopard also participates in the Bucherer Certified Pre-Owned program, where second-hand timepieces are carefully inspected, extensively restored, and reintroduced to the market with a minimum two-year warranty and a certificate of authenticity.
Through this approach, extraordinary Chopard watches—be they discontinued men’s and women’s models or rare limited editions—are given a new life, offering collectors and enthusiasts the chance to discover unique creations steeped in heritage. By embracing the Certified Pre-Owned concept, Chopard not only safeguards its legacy of fine watchmaking but also actively promotes the conscious use of resources and the values of sustainable consumption.
