One of the brand’s early breakthroughs was a crown-winding system that eliminated the need for the winding keys used in that era. This innovation helped make Montblanc pocket watches increasingly popular by the late 19th century. 

Minerva’s success led it to become a leader in precision timekeeping during the 20th century, especially known for its stopwatches and chronographs that measured time intervals with extreme accuracy. A notable highlight from the 1910s was a chronograph capable of measuring time down to 1/100th of a second. Another milestone was the creation of a hand-wound monopusher chronograph, later released in an ultra-slim version.
