Piaget Watches
Altiplano
In 1957, Piaget revolutionized the watch industry with an ultra-thin timepiece that set new standards of elegance. With its unprecedented slimness and minimalist dial design, it immediately made history. A true watch legend was born: the Piaget Altiplano.
About the Altiplano Collection
It is one of the thinnest Piaget watches and was inspired by the South American plateau of the same name, the Altiplano. This uniquely flat landscape gave the collection its name and aptly describes the masterpieces that sit on the wrists of their wearers with almost no visible elevation. The Piaget Altiplano is characterized by its beautifully shaped and ultra-thin case. The straight lugs form a perfect square, creating an exciting contrast to the circular bezel, which is either highly polished or set with diamonds all around. Depending on the design and setting, the Altiplano is a classic Piaget watch that can be worn by both men and women. With a case height of between six millimeters for the Altiplano Origin and just two millimeters for the Altiplano Ultimate Concept, the brand has revolutionized the art of watchmaking. The sophistication and flawless functioning of the movements are the top priorities.
The Altiplano Ultimate Automatic: an ultra-thin Piaget watch for men and women
This Piaget watch impressively showcases the design elements of the Altiplano collection: an off-center hour and minute display at 10 o'clock reveals the finely crafted movement. The finishing touches, with bevelled bridges, a satin-finished case back, wheels with a circular or sunburst pattern, and blackened or blued screws, are exemplary of the exquisite details of the designs. The technical sophistication of this automatic watch is based on an innovative design principle: the case back also serves as the base plate for the 219 components of the in-house 910P caliber. Another feat of engineering: the barrel is secured to the dial side of the Piaget Altiplano Ultimate Automatic with a single bridge.
The Altiplano Traditional combines the finest jewelry and watchmaking craftsmanship
The designs of the Piaget Altiplano Traditional watch showcase the brand's renowned tradition of combining precious stones and timepieces like no other. As classic jewelry watches, these models are distinguished by their magnificent diamond and other gemstone settings on the bezel and dial. In addition, the bracelets are crafted from 18-carat rose, red, or white gold and soldered to the chain links with twisted gold cords, so that incident light is reflected by the entire watch. The narrow links of the bracelet nestle particularly gently against the wearer's wrist.
The Altiplano Traditional's movement measures just two millimeters and, with a case height of 5.6 millimeters, is one of the thinnest Piaget watches.
