Requiem

The time is displayed in the eye sockets of the skull in the form of an hour and minute dial made of stainless steel. Each hour jumps to the next when it has elapsed, while the minutes pass continuously. The L'Epée 1839 sword markings on both sides of the Requiem provide a striking design highlight and allow light to enter the open skull. 

The case of the L'Epée watch is made of machined cast aluminium, while the movement is made of brass and stainless steel. Technically, the timepiece impresses with its in-house calibre 1853 HMD, which offers a power reserve of eight days. Manual winding and time setting are performed using a specially designed key attached to the base of the skull. At Bucherer, the L'Epée 1839 Requiem is available in black lacquer with a silver movement. Measuring 19 cm high, 12 cm wide, and 16 cm deep, and weighing 1.9 kg, the Requiem is not only a timepiece but also a sculptural work of art that impressively depicts the transience of time.
